Boat trip along the Cilento Coast
The beautiful Cilento coast has to be explored
at any case by boat,
especially as many of the beautiful bays and beaches
are reachable only by boat.
This allows to explore the individual grottos, small bays and hidden beaches
and to learn from the fishermen as much details on behalf of the
names of caves and for what their was used previously. Of course you can also take a
bath in beautifull
clearly water or swimming in the blue grotto. If you wish, you can also spend the day at one of the small bays,
where the fisherman can you picks up
at an agreed time in the afternoon. In low season you have a good chance
to be alone in one of these beaches. If you like
hiking, we recomend to hike to
one of this bays and to go back in the afternoon by boat.
So you also discover
the wonderful fauna and flora of the known Cilento. A walk from Marina di Camerota
to Porto Infreschi takes as about 2 hours.
The boats usually go out in May to September in
the morning at 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m and the second time
in the afternoon, as against 03:00 p.m.
The price of boat trips is about € 10.00 per person, special
rates for children.
Particularly recommended are the nightly boat tours Lamparata and Spaghettata.
At the so-called Lamparata the fishes are attracted by
the light, therefore a lamp is
mounted in front of the boat. Through the nets the fishes are caught and discarded at a nearby
beach, prepared of the fishermen and eaten together.
At the Spaghettata
you will brought by boat to a beautiful beach
and the fisherman will there prepare
the dinner. The trips are usually bounded at a minimum number of participants
and take about 3-5 hours. Due to the great effort, these trips are not
very low-priced, up from € 25.00 per person (discounts for children), but
it´s worth it. Generally these trips wil be made once a week, the exit is usually
at 06:00/07:00 p.m. and should be reserved in advance. Participation in Marina di Camerota
and Pisciotta possible.
