In the south of Naples, in the
national park "Cilento" lies small village Marina
di Camerota.
How the name (Marina di ...) already says, this
place lies directly by the sea and belongs to
the place of the same name Camerota at the top
in the hills (approx. 10 driving minutes removed).
Marina di Camerota is a delightful small fishing
place, with approx. 3.000 inhabitants, a small
and modern harbour, small lanes as well as some
restaurants, bars
and shops. In addition come innumerable grottos
and ravines and naturally magic beaches which
have given the name " pearl of the Cilento " to
Marina di Camerota. On the surrounding hills
there are numerous towers of the Saracen to
protect the village. The coast of Marina di
Camerota is known in Europe because of the
discovery of the " homo Camerotaensis ".
